Johnstown both contains and is close to a number of great amenities, some of which are detailed below.
Johnstown People’s Park – this is an 8 acre park owned by the home owners of four surrounding housing estates (Millbrook, Boyne View, The Priory, Spire View). Currently it is popular with walkers, joggers, and young people like to make use of the basketball court. There are plans to introduce additional facilities in the future.
Dalgan Park – This park includes a beautiful woodland and river side walk in the grounds of the Columban missions.
The Boyne Ramparts walk – This is just outside Navan town centre on the Kentstown Road (R153) and stretches almost as far as Slane.
Other parks in Navan include the Boyne Park which is a small park containing a playground just at the junction of the Dublin Road (R147) and Kentstown Road (R153) and the Blackwater Park just off the Ratholdren Road.
Johnstown is also close to a number of World famous historical and archaeological sites such as the Hill of Tara and Newgrange, Knowth, and Dowth passage tombs (Unesco World heritage site).
A full directory things to do in and around Johnstown including the contact details of clubs and societies will be added shortly.
